A: This SIM card is designed for phones and tablets. While it works in most tablets, Softbank, advises us it's primarily a phone SIM. Use in tablets is at your own risk.

To directly call or text asian mobile numbers, you must download the app called 'Skype' or something similar. This app will use the 4G data in your Japan Travel SIM to make the direct call within Japan.
For example, to call or text a mobile number in Japan, dial +81 followed by the Japanese mobile number within the Skype app.

Answer: The main disadvantage of using a physical SIM is that it requires you to physically swap out your existing SIM card, which may be inconvenient for some users. Additionally, if your phone does not have a SIM card slot (such as some newer models that only support eSIM), you will need to use an eSIM instead.

I bought the Japan eSIM last minute and the QR code arrived immediately within the king sims app. Installation was just scan and go and pretty easy to set up. The SoftBank connection gave me reliable 4G while hopping between Kyoto’s Fushimi Inari and Osaka’s food alleys, so Google Maps and local train apps worked flawlessly since I needed data. I used WhatsApp for quick check-ins and even completed a couple of online banking transactions without trouble, which made travel feel much safer.
